Program Overview

Program Description:
The fast-paced Modern Civilization program is designed for motivated students interested in international relations, globalization and the global economy, European politics, journalism, and debate. Over the course of the three-week program, students will examine major developments in European history from World War II to the fall of the Berlin Wall as well as the formation of the modern European Union.

On our Modern Civilization travel-history program every day will be an opportunity for cultural exploration and adventure. You will spend 3-6 nights each in Berlin, Prague, Paris and Normandy, traveling alongside professional art historians and European history teachers every step of the way.

Setting Description:
With four cultural capitals on our itinerary this program will fly by. Mornings include guided tours and on-site lessons while afternoons and evenings are dedicated to optional cultural activities and excursions, free time for exploration, and nightly group meals. Whatever the historic theme scheduled for the day may be, we strive to balance structure and spontaneity to ensure you get to see the “popular” sites and pursue your personal interests.
