Program Description:

Worldwide fashion brands as Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo are from Florence. Important fairs as "Pitti Uomo" are held in Florence twice a year. There’s no other place where fashion is so important! We don't teach just design but culture, productivity, marketing and communication as well. All of these are connected. Fashion design is closy related to the industry to resarch new trend for the market. The market looks for professonal fashion designer. The program proposes an inspiring exploration of the Italian Fashion pipeline with lectures by experienced professionals. Small-group classes enable students to improve their creative skills, and draw original designs under the close supervision of our professional instructors. Students will be given an overview of the Italian Fashion System and stimulated while learning to develop their ideas and their potential to the full. At the end of the course students will have learnt to do fashion sketches, to carry out research on a given theme and to properly use the material gathered from that research to develop a fashion project. Objectives: Realization of a portfolio of finished drawings (of a mini- collection) with sketchbooks.

At the end of the course, you will have develop your mini-collection, and acquired the necessary basic knowledge to design your brand by yourself! In addition, the program provides basic knowledge of principles of marketing to understand economic, social, and mental impacts of fashion The course takes place in several stages with the proposal of a theme (different every time) to work on. This will also enable the student to find idea to start to do the job by searching for images, materials and colors. The development of the various phases of the project will be adapted to the various levels of knowledge, the ability of the student and the hours available (it depends if you attend standard or intensive course). The topics on which students will work may be more or less complex, including the following: clothes inspired by natural shapes, a contemporary artist's style, a specific textile, a stylist's collection, etc. ..
