Program Overview

Program Description:

你可以选择在ACN秋季学期,学习spring semester, or a full year and take advantage of many unique opportunities that we offer. The courses you take, all taught in English, vary each term depending on the visiting faculty from universities in the United States. You can earn up to 30 credits alongside Norwegian peers during a full academic year. Classes are designed to transfer easily back to your home university and count towards your bachelor's degree in the US.

The University of North Dakota is the school of record for the American College of Norway.

With our small setting, students make friends quickly and get to know their classmates. You will participate in Welcome Week and Orientation upon arrival and receive 1-on-1 advising and faculty support throughout the term. Various campus events are offered throughout the school year in which you will have the opportunity to become involved as part of the Activities Committee and the Peace Committee. On-Campus housing is available and conveniently located near the campus and downtown Moss.

Unique Partnership Between ACN and the Nobel Peace Prize Forum

Moreover, ACN students are highly active in the Nobel Peace Prize Forum each year, which provides an important platform focusing on the work of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. Throughout the year, discussion and coursework at ACN allows students the opportunity to explore global topics. This is especially prevalent during the spring semester as preparations are being made for the Forum, which is held at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN.

You can also take advantage of ACN's Summer Program in Peace Studies, which offers courses focused on the themes of peace and conflict resolution, the environment and sustainability, and human rights (see separate listing). Students actively investigate these topics through class discussion and various field trips. The session runs for 4 weeks beginning mid-May into June.

ACN's cooperative partners are the University of North Dakota (UND) in Grand Forks, North Dakota; West Chester University (WCU) in West Chester, Pennsylvania; Adelphi University in Garden City, New York; and Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, New Hampshire.
