Program Description:
Since 1970, Greek Summer has provided teenagers a once-in-a-lifetime experience, living and travelling in one of civilization’s most historic cultures. Along the journey, them form lifelong bonds with all who have shared these common experiences. Of more than 1,500 alumni who have participated in Greek Summer, most consider it one of the pivotal growth experiences of their lives.

Community Service Complete a project in the homestay village. Tour Greece & Climb Mt. Olympus Includes Delphi, Athens, Mycenae and Epidaurus, Meteora, Nafplion, a Greek island and hike to the summit of Mt. Olympus.

Setting Description:
The American Farm School serves as host and home base for Greek Summer. The focus during the time on campus is on learning about Greece and its rural traditions, group activities, and sightseeing in Thessaloniki and surroundings. Central to Greek Summer is an extended stay with a host family in a village. Sharing daily life with a local family in rural Greece is cultural immersion at its best. A ten-day trip through the archaeological and historical sites of Greece highlights the last part of the program. Greek Summer culminates with an unforgettable ascent of Mt. Olympus, home of the Greek Gods.
