Program Description:

Spend a semester studying renewable energy, climate change, and sustainability at The University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus in Barbados. While in Barbados you will enroll in the The University of the West Indies, live on campus with other students and have the opportunity to interact with and learn from students from across the Caribbean. Through your coursework, hand-on field experience, and intercultural interaction you will have an empowering experience learning and contributing to the solution of energy supply, climate change mitigation, and sustainability, while developing practical and marketable skills.

Setting Description:

The University of the West Indies is a public university system serving 18 British Commonwealths or Territories in the Caribbean. The aim of the university is to help “unlock the potential for economic growth” in the West Indies, this allowing for improved regional autonomy. The Cave Hill campus overlooks the island’s capital and principal commercial center, Bridgetown, which is just five miles away. The campus maintains much of its original architecture of simple low rise buildings. The scenic attractiveness and relatively small size of the university community creates an inviting, intimate and friendly atmosphere.
