Program Description:

Take your high school experience to gorgeous Italy, and make the land of the ancient Romans and delectable cuisine your classroom. Hone your Italian skills while exploring your host family’s community and making new friends. Become a global citizen, and develop skills, experience, and maturity that equip you for success in an increasingly globalized world – all while you’re still in high school!

Aspect Foundation offers semester and year programs in Italy for American high school students.The program includes high school placement, placement in a carefully-selected volunteer host family, health and accident insurance, round trip airfare, in-country support, and optional excursions. Previous Italian or Spanish study preferred.

Setting Description:
Italy has a rich cultural landscape, notably mixing ancient and modern elements. People are generally warm and gracious. They speak vivaciously with large hand gestures. Families are often large, close-knit, and spend a lot of time together. Italy has a diverse and beautiful landscape, from Mediterranean coasts to mountains, islands, and volcanoes. Italian cuisine is world-famous, including savory pastas, fresh breads and a variety of cheeses.

Additional Program Information

Requirements:
Must be 14-18 years old at the start of the program. Prior Italian or Spanish language study preferred, but not required.
