Program Description:

This four-week English-taught program provides both theoretical and practical knowledge on data mining. Students take two courses, "Advanced Methods in Data Mining" and "Machine Learning-Based Solutions" as well as participate in a mandatory one-week internship at BGU's Cyber Security Research Center. In addition, students take part in professional fieldtrips to leading companies in order to enhance their understanding of data mining and cybersecurity.

Setting Description:

Beer-Sheva is Israel's fourth largest city and was recently named by Forbes as a "New Silicon Valley in the Middle East." The city provides students with a unique juxtaposition of old world Israel, with its ancient markets, and new world Israel with the brand new Advanced Technology Park and cutting-edge research in areas such as cyber security and environmental science. Beer-Sheva is conveniently located to other major cities in the country, making travel extremely easy.

Additional Program Information

Requirements:

Students in their junior year of undergraduates studies or at any stage of their graduate studies in Information Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering and Management. The student must have a GPA of 82 or 3.0 at least and English proficiency required. Students will need to have a personal laptop (windows OS) as part of the program.
