Extra coursework that prepares you for two of the most popular fields in ESL: Business English and teaching English to children Access to TEFLVideos(dot)com, an online video library with hundreds of ideas for lesson plans, classroom management, and other useful tips and tricks that will help you improve your teaching Job placement resources from our knowledgeable staff and network of schools around the world Subscription to ESL Library, providing access to hundreds of high-quality lesson plans and thousands of flash cards On-Site Teaching Experience: While in Barcelona, you may be placed in a variety of different English-language learning environments. For a minimum of 10-15 hours per week, you will be responsible for helping with the teaching and administration of these programs. Examples of possible placement opportunities include: Teaching children and/or adults at an English language school on the outskirts of Barcelona Assisting Spanish students at a local university with English language skills and practice interviews Running English classes for immigrants at the local YMCA Participating in local summer camp activities in English to help local children increase their proficiency in the language Additional Activities: In addition to your teaching placement, you will also participate in a number of different activities, both cultural and educational, during the program. You will have the opportunity to meet with and learn from local school administrators and teachers. Tours of local schools and workshops on the educational systems in Spain will complement your hands-on learning during the program. For students participating in the 6-10 week programs, one week of intensive Spanish language classes will also be offered.
