Program Description:

Broaden your horizons, make a difference, improve your Spanish, and get real-world experience by becoming a conservation intern with the Ceiba Foundation. This internship is an opportunity for you to form working relationships with Ecuadorian organizations and communities, providing for a mutually-beneficial cultural exchange, the potential for acquiring useful job skills and improving your Spanish, and a chance to become familiar with environmental careers.

Conservation internships offer students an opportunity to contribute to ongoing habitat protection, environmental education, and community development projects while building their professional skill set, cultural awareness, and scientific research capabilities. Students are awarded 6 credits from the University of Wisconsin, Madison for participating in the summer internship program.

Setting Description:

Coastal Ecuador is known for its lush hills, villages, and expansive coastline. Internships are based at the Lalo Loor Dry Forest reserve and the nearby communities of Tabuga and Camarones where the Ceiba Foundation has been working since 1999.
