Study beginner Thai language and culture in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Conducted at Chiang Mai University, 3 week sessions are offered every month. 3 hrs of classes per day, 15 hrs per week, 45 hrs total classes per session. Students earn 2 - 4 college credits for each session completed. Culture courses include topics like: Buddhism, Social etiquette, the Wai, and more. Housing is included in program fee. - Chiang Mai - the 2nd largest city in Thailand. Called the "Rose of the North", it is one of the country's most culturally and attractive regions - with many golden wats (temples), teakwood houses, dragon sculptures, and scenic jungle mountains with hill-tribe villages and white water rafting rivers. This is the old kingdom of Lanna. Chiang Mai is also the center of Thailand's arts and crafts - with the famous "Night Bazaar".
