Program Description:

The Coastal Academy is a unique training centre situated on the North coast of Madagascar. Created in partnership with the University of Antsiranana, it runs courses throughout the year in Tropical Marine and Coastal Ecosystem Management and Monitoring Methods and offers the chance for international students to study side by side with students from the Western Indian Ocean Islands. The Coastal Academy offers training and certification in internationally-recognised methodologies with courses starting from just GBP 495.

Setting Description:

The Coastal Academy is located in Antsiranana, on the North-East coast of Madagascar, a lively city with around 100,000 inhabitants, and a rich colonial history. Antsiranana is within easy access to some of Madagascar’s most beautiful national parks and most exquisite coastlines. Students will also have the chance to visit remote and isolated communities and villages on field trips and to experience the ‘real’ Madagascar.
