Program Description:

Operating since 1985 Columbia English Language School Cyprus (CELS) acknowledges the worldwide dominance of the English language and believes that the future student is one who has mastered it. The institute’s main goal is for students to become independent English readers and writers as well as confident speakers, who can interact casually with native English speakers or deliver formal presentations in their further academic pursuits. CELS is accredited by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, is a member of the IATEFL as well as ClubEFL and is affiliated with the European Council for Business Education (ECBE), for whom it is an Examination Centre. We closely collaborate with the British Council Cyprus concerning English Exams and CELS’s premises are regularly used as British Council exam venues. Columbia Private Institute was established in 1985 and has fairly recently moved to its newly purpose-built premises. Its facilities include spacious classrooms, equipped with computers and projectors, a lending library with books and other interactive material appropriate for each level, plus a conference room where it regularly hosts lectures by eminent doctors, nutritionists, psychologists and educators. Each classroom has a capacity of twenty students, but the number of students in each class is limited to fifteen, which allows ample space for kinesthetic activities. CPI’s facilities are also fully air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and provides ample parking. The IGCSE and IELTS among other exams are conducted on the school’s premises. Our overseas division, hosting international students from all over the world on its language camp residential programme is a member of the English Language Schools Association of Cyprus (ELSAC)
