Shanghai's commercial and residential buildings showcase cutting edge interior design concepts and attract attention from around the world. Interns in the fields of architecture and interior design work directly with professionals as project assistants and may be given more responsibilities with specific projects.Some of the organizations accepting international interns may offer monthly stipends to offset the costs of living in Shanghai. To qualify for a position offering a stipend, interns must commit to at least 12 weeks with the program. The amount of the stipend varies, but it is usually enough to cover the cost of rent.

In-country Staff Support: ELI's coordinator in Shanghai has years of experience working with international interns. He is very resourceful and on call 24/7 in case of emergency. Accommodations: Participants have a choice of accommodation including private apartments, shared apartments, and host families. Interns can choose the accommodation that best suits their individual needs.
