Program Overview

Program Description:
Bali is best known as a blissful island paradise, but away from the tourist track a number of Balinese children face serious issues including severe poverty, child labour, human trafficking and slavery, commercial sexual exploitation, and displacement. Many miss out on the opportunity to go to school and grow up without a stable family environment. You will work with a humanitarian NGO that offers assistance to Balinese children whose survival and wellbeing is at risk. This is an all-encompassing placement where you can literally get involved in exactly where you think you can help the most, whether it be PR & Marketing, fund-raising, NGO administration & management, conducting field research, building and construction, or caring for children. Those with specific interests in anti-trafficking, child slavery, and human rights interests can be accommodated for and are strongly encouraged to apply. In your free time the countless delights of Bali are there for you to enjoy, such as visiting temples, an elephant park, swimming with dolphins, climbing volcanoes, scuba diving, sailing, white-water rafting, horse-back riding and much more. Island hopping around Bali provides excellent weekend breaks and the chance to visit (even more) stunning beaches and landscapes.
