Program Description:

The IEM Study Abroad in Shanghai Program is open to all college level students seeking to complete academic courses abroad. Knowledge of the Chinese language is not required. IEM is proud to offer its students flexible study abroad programs that focus on academic and social activities, cultural and language studies, relevant and practical courses, preparation and participation in professional internships, and much more!

Students will enroll in the equivalent of 12-15 credits that will consist of Intensive Chinese Language Study, Introduction to China and its culture, and a selection of business courses. All classes, except for Chinese Language, are taught in English by native English speaking faculty. Study abroad students will be enrolled in classes with local Chinese students who are pursuing an International Business specialization instructed in English.

IEM Study Abroad program fees include assistance with paperwork, visa requirements, on-campus accommodations, orientations, supervision and some guided tours, tuition and fees equivalent to 12-15 U.S. semester credits, access to the Study Abroad Office and coordinators, Peer Mentor-Program, travel and health insurance, and a U.S. University Transcript.

Setting Description:

Students are housed in single or double rooms in modern university international student residences. All housing is monitored and secured, with convenient locations to campus and public transportation, and near campus cafeteria and restaurants.
