Program Description:
The program offers courses in Japanese Culture and Language, History and English. The program plans a number of interactions with people in the local communities, students will have a wonderful opportunity to surround themselves with the Japanese language and culture.

The Japan Program, which consists of four parts, will last approximately five weeks and offers students an opportunity to discover the multidimensional image of Japan and to gain insight into its complex and dynamic culture and society.

The courses are designed to take full advantage of the programs multiple locations. Credit will be awarded by Western Kentucky University and will automatically be transferred to the student's home institution.
Setting Description:
The three program sites, Tenri, Nara, and Kyoto, in the Kansai area are in close proximity to each other and are located in Japan's most important ancient cultural center. These sites offer easy access to major commercial and manufacturing cities, such as Osaka, Kobe, and Nagoya.
