Program Overview

Program Description:

Volunteers on this inspirational program will be working in the new residential quarters in Shang Gang with youth and adults from Shang Gang Village who are mentally handicapped. There are around twenty students at the center, and volunteers help at meal times and with day-to-day care, including assisting with their personal development, such as learning Basic English, and with hygiene education.

There is also work to be done behind the scenes helping to design and update the center’s own website if you wish, as well as writing content and approaching international organizations on their behalf, are all hugely beneficial. Those volunteers who have nursing or medical qualifications may additionally become involved in treatment plans for the residents of the center.

What you can do as a volunteer: Helping at meal time and with daily care, teaching Basic English where applicable, working with the staff at the center to design the curriculum, and helping with physical therapy and creating activities

Setting Description:

Volunteers on this program will be accommodated in one of our comfortable volunteer houses onsite. Free time can be used to explore this huge and fascinating country!

Cost:

LV Registration Fee + Programs Fees from just $375 for two weeks! USD. Included: Accommodation, 2 Meals per day, Airport Pickup, Orientation on Arrival and 24/7 In-Country Support.
