Program Overview

Program Description:
We’re looking for students who are eager to explore big ideas and generate sustainable solutions for economic, global and social challenges. Sound like you? Then join us! We are a unique global leadership institute offered through SCH Academy's Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. We bring talented students from different countries together to explore design thinking and entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurSCHift program, aka eSCHift, was born out of a desire to give students creative confidence and practical leadership skills as change agents in a rapidly changing world. Each program is built around three core components: entrepreneurship, design thinking, and global leadership. Students participate in four program tiers: workshops with mentors, collaborative projects, social activities, and travel. Students travel throughout Philadelphia and take day trips to New York City to see popular sites, meet with entrepreneurial leaders, and tour company headquarters. We also have a lot fun through a variety of social activities including a pool party, high ropes course and much more! Programs are housed on the campus of Springside Chestnut Hill Academy in Philadelphia, PA, USA. International students stay with families from SCH Academy. The program is open to students from all over the United States as well. Housing with SCH Academy families is available.

DESIGN & INNOVATE: Through collaborative projects, students apply the principles of design thinking to develop an empathic perspective, gain insight from observations, and ask good questions as they navigate complex problems. CREATE SOLUTIONS: Students work on projects targeted to the specific needs of an organization or user group. Students become creators of solutions. Change makers. Creative contributors. Leaders for today and tomorrow. LEAD: Students gain relevant skills and confidence in their own leadership abilities. TAKE RISKS:eSCHift provides a safe space for students to embrace new experiences, openly challenge ideas, and practice “failing forward.” ENGAGE WITH ENTREPRENEURS: You can’t become an entrepreneur by reading about entrepreneurship. eSCHift students engage with leading entrepreneurs and visit headquarters of small start-ups and major companies. COLLABORATE: eSCHift activities are highly interactive and grounded in teamwork. We facilitate dynamic opportunities for dialogue and collaboration. EXPLORE YOUR WORLD: eSCHift participants visit with entrepreneurial organizations, experience local cuisine, and see important landmarks in several major cities. GO DIGITAL: Not only do eSCHift students work with an array of cutting-edge digital tools and apps, they actually create them!
