Program Description:

为什么当你可以让他们选择一个?为什么不become an English language camp counselor in Thailand, Cambodia and Myanmar? Travel to all three countries in six-weeks and return with an experience you will never duplicate again. With a long coastline (actually, two coastlines) and jungle-topped islands anchored in blue waters, Thailand is a tropical getaway for the hedonist and the hermit, the prince and the pauper. When you step off the airplane after your flight to Thailand, you will find it almost natural to slip into your Thai “skin,” even if this is your first trip to Thailand. In no time you will be chit-chatting with the locals, eating at street noodle joints, climbing aboard shared taxi pick-up trucks, and craving rice for breakfast. Phi Phi is the first stop. (You fly into Krabi, Thailand). You will have your formal orientation and give one of the English language camps a try in Koh Samet. Then you’re off to Myanmar, where you’ll visit two distinct areas of Myanmar. Myanmar, which has yet to be completely overwhelmed by Western fashion – everywhere you’ll encounter men wearing skirt-like longyi, women smothered in thanakha (traditional make-up) and betel-chewing grannies with mouths full of blood-red juice. People still get around in trishaws and, in rural areas, horse and cart. Next stop is Cambodia. By bus. Where the real treasure is its people. The Khmers have been to hell and back, struggling through years of bloodshed, poverty and political instability. Thanks to an unbreakable spirit and infectious optimism, they have prevailed with their smiles intact. No visitor comes away without a measure of admiration and affection for the inhabitants of this enigmatic kingdom. This is not something you will do and then come home and forget. This experience will last a lifetime. In fact, this experience will play an enormous role as you design your future. And GeoVisions invests in your future. How? We provide stellar service, and we are with you at every step, even when you’re in Thailand. We provide free membership in the ESL Lounge, where you can download and use flash cards and worksheets to help you teach English to the students at these remote schools. These tools vary from Pre-K all the way through Business-English. And we provide the opportunity for you to become certified in the Renzulli learning method for gifted and talented education. The online course is completely optional (and included free) and certifies you so you can provide this incredible learning style at the camp. Based on 30 years of research at the Neag Center for Creativity, Gifted Education, and Talent Development at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Joseph Renzulli and Dr. Sally Reis have been at the forefront of researching, studying and developing teaching methods that unlock the gifts and talents of all students. Not only will you be able to apply these methods with your summer campers, you will have them when you come home. If you’re going to be a teacher, you can use these new tools in your classroom and your certification on your resume. Even if you never use these tools in your profession, they will be with you if and when you become a parent. Our investment is in you and your future, along with providing a unique experience. Around our office we are fond of saying, “No landmark beats a life changing experience.”b mnbgjmbhmj
