Program Description:

Taupo Language was established in 1991, every year we welcome students from between 20-25 different countries, so you can make friends with people . The school has a family like atmosphere, where everyone knows your name and is friendly. Maybe this is because the classes are small (10 max:1 teacher) where you get more teacher time or individual attention. For better accent and speaking practice, we only offer English first language speakers for our home stay families. Our research shows students enroll at Taupo Language because they want to try the exciting activities, prefer a smaller cleaner environment, and want to be able to make friends with Kiwi's( New Zealander's not birds!).

The general English is 25 hours per week, with an activity or communication class option on Friday afternoons. We have a Pre-Secondary school program that also includes 2 hours of maths and science each week. A Parent & Child program where the children attend day care or elementary school while the parent studies English. We have an English & ski, English & Mt bike, English & Rugby and English & Golf program which includes English and the specified sports. We also offer a wide range of adventure activities for students to enjoy after English classes.

Setting Description:

Taupo Language is located in the CBD of Taupo, on the Northern shores of beautiful Lake Taupo, NZ's largest lake. Close by is NZ's largest ski resort, Mt Ruapehu, rafting and kayaking rivers, 250 km's of mt biking trail, Tongariro World Heritage Park, and endless adventures, recreation and natural wilderness for all to enjoy. The region is famous for bungy, jetboating, trout fishing, golf courses, tandem sky diving, Ironman, cycling, but really it is just an unpolluted natural environment to live while studying English.
