Program Description:

Our Spring Session begins in March and ends in June. Students may enroll in any number of the following courses: Painting, Basic Drawing, Figure Drawing, Printmaking, Digital Photography, Black and White Silver Photography, Creative Writing, Ancient Greek Literature and Art History. Each course is organized around a format of intensive small group and one-to-one instruction with our full-time staff members, all of whom are practicing artists and scholars.

Located on the beautiful Greek island of Paros, the Aegean Center for the Fine Arts has been training artists and students of the arts since its founding in 1966. Here at the Aegean Center we believe that acquiring technique is a necessary beginning to creating meaningful work, for without vocabulary the artist is mute. Our mission then is to provide this underpinning of craft and to stimulate the imagination and wonder of our students.

The Aegean Center offers the classically oriented and skill-based curriculum woefully absent from most art programs today. Faculty emphasize the learning of craft and work closely with students, helping them to expand their personal vocabularies.

Setting Description:

The white-washed houses, the wine-dark sea, the wholesome, island-grown produce. Here on Paros, life assumes a different pace, with ample opportunity for self-reflection. And, of course, the classical world, with its timeless ideals of truth and beauty, is never far. All our facilities are within short walking distance of each other. Students live in single occupancy studio apartments with kitchenettes & weekly maid service.
