Program Overview

Program Description:
Augsburg Summer Program on European and International Economic Law is offered by the Faculty of Law of the University of Augsburg. The Program provides insight into economic and business law necessary to meet the increasing requirements of companies and law firms in this field. Augsburg Summer Program takes place every year in June and July. This year it will start on the 8th of June 2015 and continue until the 17th of July 2015.

The Program focuses on such issues as contract law, company law and banking law as well as on private international law, transnational litigation and international arbitration. The legal issues are considered from international, European and German perspective. A detailed list of courses offered during past years can be found at our website. An introductory course on German Law is offered for students from abroad. The Program’s participants can also attend a German language course.

The program offers approximately 15 courses, total of 36 ECTS. The students who successfully graduate from at least 4 courses receive a transcript of records and a certificate of participation.
Setting Description:
Augsburg is a beautiful city situated at the foothills of the Bavarian Alps only 30 minutes away from München (Munich). The city was founded about 2000 years ago as a Roman fort. During the late medieval times and the Renaissance it was one of Europe´s most important economic and cultural centers. Currently, the modern campus provides a unique opportunity to efficient and effective studies and the location of the program allows multiple excursions to different places.
Cost:
The program costs € 500. However, students from the following Law Schools are charged with no tuition/administrative fee: • Chicago-Kent, College of Law, Chicago, Illinois (Students from Chicago-Kent can use their Augsburg credits toward their degrees if they pay a 50% tuition fee to their home university) • George Washington University, Washington D.C. • Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, California • University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, North Carolina • University of Pepperdine, Mali
