Program Description:

Contemporary Art Theory The semester of study has as its backbone the contextual studies programs on the BA (Hons.) Art courses at Camberwell College of Arts - Painting, Sculpture, Photography and Drawing. The program encourages students to engage with the ideas that inform the making and interpretation of contemporary art as well as its historical background. The course offers a unique insight into contemporary art in one of the world's artistic capitals. The program also makes use of Camberwell’s impressive external connections that will allow students to be able to meet and discuss ideas with London's art professionals including writers, critics, curators and well-known artists.

Students who have participated in our Study Abroad programs during the past 20 years have benefitted in many ways, not least the opportunity to underpin their course curriculum from their home institution, but also the ability to explore imaginative visual thinking and capitalise on London as a learning resource in a welcoming and supportive environment.
