Program Description:

UPCES is the undergraduate study abroad program at Prague’s Charles University and CERGE-EI. With UPCES, students learn new subjects, study a foreign language, gain wider perspectives, and experience cultural immersion — while living in an incredible European city. Outside the classroom, UPCES students explore the cultures of Central Europe firsthand through UPCES-organized trips, excursions, internships, and immersion activities. Students live in the city center in flats of their choosing. Crucially, UPCES offers a personalized approach to study abroad. Students receive all the resources essential to a rewarding semester of immersion and discovery.

Internships opportunities are available to enhance out-of-the-classroom learning.

In addition to the courses and trips offered, UPCES tuition includes a 10-day Orientation, Prague transportation pass, Czech cell phone, all course materials, airport pick-up, and four nights at a hotel upon arrival. Students also benefit from full support of the UPCES staff in both the United States and Prague. UPCES is one of the most affordable programs in Prague, and the city itself is quite affordable compared to other European cities.

Setting Description:

Prague is a breathtakingly beautiful city filled with a rich cultural heritage of art, architecture, theater, and music. The city’s mixture of old-world charm and modern vibrancy (combined with its affordable prices) makes it a perfect place to study abroad. The UNESCO preserved city center transports visitors to the dreamlike atmosphere of another time period. Students can also take advantage of Prague's central location by exploring nearby European cities like Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, and many more. UPCES is located in a former palace that has been converted into a top-notch educational facility. Our state-of-the-art classrooms, computer lab, library, and study center are available to our students 24/7.

Cost:

Currently set at $10,350 per semester (housing paid separately) and $19,700 per academic year.
