Program Description:

The Certified Phlebotomy Technician I at U.S. Colleges course provides students with the skills and knowledge necessary to work in a clinical laboratory, hospital, clinic, or physician’s office setting. U.S. Colleges offers CPT training at each campus so you can jump into this growing career in no time. Our phlebotomy technician training will teach you everything you need to know to be successful in your new role as a phlebotomist. You will build a solid foundation and feel confident as you enter into the field and take charge of your new career. With just 78 hours of lecture and lab hours and 40 hours at an externship, you will be fully prepared and ready for your new job.

About the Certified Phlebotomy Technician Program

Students who choose to enroll in this program will learn the knowledge and skills needed to work in a hospital, clinic, lab, or physician’s office. Students will spend time covering basic phlebotomy skills in the specific areas of universal precautions, infection control, and anatomy, amongst other important topics.

All students in this program will receive hands-on training to ensure they can properly use the equipment and tools necessary for a career as a phlebotomist. Students are required to successfully complete a minimum of 50 venipunctures and 10 skin punctures in the clinical setting.

To apply for the CPT program, you must have a standard high school diploma or a General Education Development (GED) certificate. Our admissions office requires official transcripts. Students in this program will undergo a background check by the Department of Health Services before any certification will be issued to the student.
